❀ intro ❀

After a wide spread explosion that affected the whole planet, the modern world is thrown back into a living where large scale energy is inaccessible, and where supernatural creatures, previously human, live.

About Me and my Story

I'm Simon, I'm 19 and trans!!!

This is essentially my main hobby and hyperfixation. I work on developing my story and its characters as well as drawing my characters in my free time. I often also find myself thinking about AUs of this story, such as my Star Trek AU.

I first came up with my ocs Mark and Luther in January 2015! Its been a few years and since then their story has changed a lot, and as they've grown I have too <:3

I would like to give a special shout out to my buddie Fox for helping me develop my ocs and story along the way ♡

The Kiddos

Three werewolf children Mark found abandoned in the forest during his full moon nights.

Mark has posters hung up around the area so that the children's parents can find them. He loves them dearly and thinks of them as his own children.

cinnamon

Incredibly quiet, but mischievous. Spends her time observing others from a distance, or getting into things Mark told her not to. Often wanders off to explore the surrounding area much to Mark's worry. Torments Stephanie often.

Came from a neglectful family, and is abrasive because of this, but she eventually warms up to Mark.

Likes girls but doesn't know it yet.

11 years old and almost as tall as Mark with plenty of time to grow.

Stephanie

A goody two shoes prone to telling on Cinnamon. Extremely protective of her little brother, Ollie. Smart and tends to brag about it. Avidly reads books above her age level and folds origami.

8 years old.

Ollie

A sensitive little boy who constantly wants to be in Mark's arms or his sister Stephanie's. Cuddly and must have his blanket.

3 years old.

Werewolves and Mages

Considering Mark and his children are werewolves, and Luther and Gabrielle are mages, here is some info about each group.

Werewolves

Mark and Ollie in wolf form

Werewolves transform against will every full moon at night, and are usually hostile towards humans.

Once transformed back into human form, werewolves are very tired and sore. Sore from the transformation itself, and tired from being up all night, so they usually sleep through the whole day and into the next night.

Mark takes himself and the kiddos out into a nearby forest for the transformations so they don't hurt anyone else in the house or wreck the house.

Before Mark and the kids come back home Opal preps a large mattress in the living room so Mark and the kiddos can rest together without also having to walk very far.

Werewolves have yellow irises and dark claws in their human form, as well as bigger canine teeth.

They also have tufts of hair on their jaw, chest, elbows, and calves. This is true no matter the werewolves gender, though young werewolves may have less hair.

Mages and magic

Mages inherit magic: it cannot be learned.

They use their magic by focusing their will on what they want to happen. This comes at the expense of energy, and a mage can die if they overexert themself.

Mages have focus points in their aura that they can direct their magic through. Depending on the experience and the age of the mage, these points can differ in diameter and quantity.

Inexperienced mages have very wide focus points, which makes it difficult for them to do very specific tasks. These points usually tighten from practice.

Strong mages have many focus points, allowing them to distribute their power through more focus points and reducing the expense the use of magic has on the mage. Nothing can be done to change the amount of focus points a mage has.

Not using magic also becomes dangerous, as the energy will slowly build up until a point where the mage cannot contain it. Mages with less focus points have a lower capacity than those with many.

Magical effects can be applied to items to make charms, but this is a difficult skill.

Mages have thier own underground and loose form of government, including a justice system for mages who use thier magic irresponsibly, or in a way that hurts others.

In cases where the criminal is extremely dangerous they can be stripped of their magic using abilities by highly trained individuals.

Auras are present in everyone, non mages simply have no focus points. These auras can have different colors as well as tendrils that connect person to person, reflecting thier relationship.

Thick tendrils represent a very long or deep relationship, such as the one between a child and parent or between significant others.

Healthy relationships have steady and dense tendrils, while unhealthy relationships have turbulent, bumpy, and hollowed tendrils.

Colors of auras are simply a personal signature that distinguishes individuals from another, like finger prints.

A select few mages can see auras. Those who can usually can only see the color, where even fewer can see the relationship tendrils between people.

Background

After a few years since the apocalypse happened Mark, a werewolf, and his close friend Opal have made a relatively comfortable living in an abandoned house.

The story starts when two strangers knock on their door in the middle of night. But in the years between the apocalypse and the strangers arriving, Mark has gathered three werewolf children that he found abandoned in the forest during full moons. He brought them to his home to take care of until their family finds them. To help the parents find thier kids Mark and Opal hung up posters of the children in the area.

Mark and Opal make a living through their garden at home and by salvaging resources from abandoned homes.

Not much about the apocalypse is known, other than that it was a short but earth wide explosion, apparently of magical origin, as it appears to have caused many of the life forms to transform into supernatural creatures.

Unfortunately many people could not handle these changes and either went feral or died, leaving too few people to manage communication systems and other large scale services like electricity and phone service. There are no major governments anymore, rather people tend to gravitate into small communities.

Luther and Gabrielle are the two strangers that show up on Mark and Opals door step. They are mages who attract more trouble than either Mark or Opal expected.

Someone is after Luther, and it appears they don't care who else gets hurt in their quest to capture him.

But by the time Mark and Opal learn that taking in the mages probably wasn't a good idea, Mark has fallen in love with Luther, and Luther shares his feelings, much to the distress of Opal.

Amidst all of the interpersonal drama, and even the threat of a powerful mage hunting Luther, one question remains.

What caused the apocalypse to begin with?
